This beautiful, peaceful and natural garden with wildlife areas, celebrates William Penn's life and achievements. There are benches in the garden to rest and encourage quiet contemplation. Like all gardens it is a living project and we hope the garden will grow and develop over the coming years. The garden contains sculptural work of one of our attenders, artist Zeljko Ivankovic.
The garden is open everyday in daylight hours for visitors to enjoy, sit quietly and follow the signs telling the story of Penn's life around the garden.
The Quiet Garden Movement
The Blue Idol is an affiliate member of the Quiet Garden Trust, a movement which encourages the use of outdoor space in nature for reflection and peace. A Quiet Garden afternoon, from 1pm - 4pm, is held the first Wednesday of every month through the year. Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book, welcomers will be present come rain or shine. The garden, the buildings and tea making facilities are available for you use. We also hold some led retreat days, see our calendar for dates and our page on the Quiet Garden website for more information.
