We are very proud of our association with the William Penn School. Quakers from the Blue Idol Meeting started the school in the early 1900's as the nearest schools for children to walk to were Shipley and Billingshurst. This same school, although relocated in 1973, is now a Community School still with strong Quaker roots and two Quakers still sit on the board of governers.
The Blue Idol Meeting House is blessed by visits from William Penn School a few days of the year. Recently, they contributed art work to our current exhibition which opened on March 24th 2018.
This primary school for 5 to 11 year olds is in Coolham and is the only Quaker primary school in the country. It is run jointly by West Sussex County council and Quakers.
